Bridges, like other man made forms, look most appropriate in landscapes where their presence and design appears rational. The concept of our innovative and imaginative bridge is to promote natural connectivity between nature and the built environment.
Connecting nature and the city through engineering
Our proposal, developed in collaboration with SHED (structural engineering design consultant), aims to create something less industrial in character and more sculptural in appearance whilst maintaining good structural integrity. Using a form commonly reflected in nature, the tendril twists around the bridge, supporting the connecting walkway producing a simple and aesthetically balanced form which achieves maximum visual impact.
