The latest stage at Springside urban village in Fountainbridge has gained planning approval.

Appointed by moda living and working with CDA Architects, OOBE’s streetscape designs provide solutions for 21st century living.

Located only a short walk from Edinburgh Castle and Haymarket Station, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a series of relaxing and informal social spaces.

The pedestrian friendly environment will enhance existing and establish new routes into Scotland’s vibrant capital city. Whilst public/semi-private courtyards will provide sanctuaries from the bustling city centre.

Wildlife will also be welcomed in and find a home in the street trees, rain gardens and ornamental planting beds.

The latest planning approval includes a public square. This flexible space will be able to accommodate a range of events, including market stalls and pop-up events.

Once completed the whole site will feature 476 rental homes, shops, cafes and public realm.  This multi-million pound development will provide a contemporary and iconic feature to the urban fabric of Edinburgh’s skyline.

“At Moda we provide a whole new way to rent. This is centred on providing well-designed places to live, work and play for happier and healthier living. The Springside development will be home to over 476 rental home, 15,000sqft of ground floor retail space and a public square.

“Right from the outset OOBE understood our fresh approach. Through its contemporary landscape designs, OOBE is helping Moda to create a new neighbourhood in the heart of Edinburgh’s iconic city-centre. A place where people can make the most of being outdoors in a beautiful setting.” Lee Savage, Director of Development at moda living.
