OOBE-BEE

Plant, snap and share

As landscape architects and lovers of our beautiful planet, we thought we would encourage others to join the fun and sow seeds to grow plants and flowers that encourage pollination, helping our bee population!

It’s really simple to join in the fun!

If you haven’t already, take a pic on your smartphone of the package you have received and post and tag us in on Instagram (@oobe_landscape) or Twitter (OOBE_ltd) using the hashtags

Instructions to grow your bee friendly plants

All you will need

– Garden rake or fork
– Watering jug
– Our OOBE-BE seed mix
– A label to mark where you have sowed your plants – why not get creative?!

Then follow these steps:

– Choose a space with plenty of sunlight and somewhere where you can see them grow!

– Choose a day when the soil is neither too wet nor too dry.

– Break up the soil to remove large lumps and stones.

– Remove any weeds.

– Rake the soil so it’s fine and crumbly.

– Scatter your wildflower seeds over the soil by hand; a little at a time for an even spread.

– Rake the soil again gently, just enough to just cover the seeds with a thin layer of fine crumbly soil.

– Very gently, water the whole area, taking care not to wash your seeds away.

– Label the area with your home made plant marker.

– As it’s June your seeds may lay dormant for a little while, but will sprout nearer to the Autumn

– Snap and share when you’re finished planting and keep doing it so we can all see them grow!

– Bees will continue to forage in the Autumn to keep their colonies going throughout the winter months!
