Set on the spectacular Northumberland coast, a Grade II listed Georgian manor house and estate is now one of the largest wedding venues in the north east.
OOBE was responsible for the masterplanning and ongoing maintenance of this boutique hotel, wedding venue and private members club.
Specialising in unique outdoor weddings, the landscape design was key to the transformation of this dilapidated 18th Century Listed Hall and grounds.
A bold, romantic and fantastical setting for a boutique hotel and wedding venue
Formal tree and prairie style planting create a beautiful setting, which includes an elegantly curved grass wedding hill and an indoor/outdoor wedding terrace with retractable roof. More subtle interventions include the love tree covered in individually designed, colourful bird boxes, the Corsican sea goddess carved from an existing tree by chainsaw sculptor Thomas Craggs and infinity field using waves of perennial grasses to blend the new extension into the wider context.
The result is a transformation of the hall grounds into a setting suitable for outdoor weddings and informal recreation, whilst respecting the rich history of the site. The landscape design blends the scheme into its stunning surroundings.
