OOBE, alongside Ryder Architecture, worked on proposals for the Thames Valley Gateway Building which was designed to include offices and fitted laboratories. The building will be positioned as a centre for innovation.
The Thames Valley Science Park has good connectivity being adjacent to the M4 motorway to the south of Reading.
An ecologically rich environment for all users to enjoy
Surrounded by arable farmland and close to a village, the landscape design needed to work hard to ensure the built form would sit comfortably within this setting whilst responding to the site users requirements.
Plazas, courtyards and gardens create a variety of spaces within the vicinity of the building’s users. Mature trees, new areas of native woodland and planting beyond minimise the visual impact of the development and provide a variety of habitats for flora and fauna.
