Luke Johnston

Landscape Architect

Luke graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2016, having joined a practice in Edinburgh after graduating, he began working on a wide range of challenging projects throughout Scotland and the UK including the redesign of the King’s Building Campus for the University of Edinburgh.

In 2018 he joined another Edinburgh practice and began working on a number of public realm jobs and residential jobs throughout mainly Edinburgh and Glasgow. These include a scheme which looks to enhance a corporate campus for Barclay’s new headquarters in Glasgow and a strategic plan to improve sustainable transport links in Edinburgh city centre.

Luke joined OOBE in February 2022 and has experience working across all stages of a project; from concept through to on-site delivery and hand-over. Luke is motivated by the unique opportunities that every project has to offer. He brings together innovative design solutions using a pragmatic approach to ensure delivery of succinct functioning landscapes. He places emphasis on this by reinforcing the core values of the proposal through detailed design and the use of high-quality imagery, helping to create a project with a strong identity.

Outside of work Luke enjoys rock climbing, running, and cooking.
