Yanning joined the Edinburgh team in October 2023 as an Assistant Landscape Architect, after graduating with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in the same year.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in landscape gardening, Yanning spent a year working for a landscape architecture company where she gained valuable experience in residential landscapes and tourism district planning. She has contributed productively to many stages of landscape projects, from conceptual design to construction. After that, she decided to further her studies as an MLA student at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on exploring in depth the possibilities of landscape design in serving both human communities and more-than-human communities, and making landscape the connection between humans and our planet. She is passionate about creating a better and more adaptable future in a rapidly changing world – in a landscape architect’s way.
Outside of work, Yanning enjoys documenting her life and inspirations in doodles. She also loves reading sci-fi, as words like ‘future’ and ‘possibilities’ will always keep her passionate.
