New Garden Square

This ambitious project in Edgbaston, Birmingham, is poised to transform over 11 acres into a thriving urban community. Our design vision complements Moda Living’s commitment to building vibrant neighbourhoods. Phase 2 will introduce a 37-story build-to-rent residential tower, offering a mix of apartments alongside a plethora of resident amenities. This development seamlessly integrates with the existing New Garden Square masterplan, creating a dynamic space featuring a new public park, retail outlets, restaurants, and essential community facilities.

Phase 2 embraces the principles of Biodiversity Net Gain, a critical strategy for mitigating the impact of development on ecosystems. Our design incorporates measures that enhance existing habitats and create new ones. By implementing these measures, we aim to achieve a net increase in biodiversity on the site, leaving a lasting positive impact on the local environment.

OOBE’s landscape design approach for New Garden Square Phase 2 prioritises fostering a sense of community and well-being. We aim to achieve this by creating a seamless connection between the built environment and public spaces. Our design incorporates high-quality landscaping elements, including plazas, walkways, and public open space, that encourage pedestrian activity and social interaction.

Sustainability is a core principle, with the use of native plants and water-efficient irrigation systems. Furthermore, the design fosters a sense of connection to nature, providing residents with tranquil green spaces to relax and unwind within the bustling urban environment.

The successful planning application for New Garden Square Phase 2 marks a significant milestone. This collaborative effort between OOBE, Fuse, Moda Living, and Birmingham City Council planners signifies a shared commitment to creating a truly integrated development. Phase 2 will contribute to the ongoing transformation of New Garden Square into a vibrant and sustainable urban destination, offering exceptional living experiences for residents and enriching the surrounding Edgbaston district.
